Montserrat’s Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Joseph E. Farrell will deliver the island’s 2024-2025 Budget during a Meeting of the Legislative Assembly at the Montserrat Cultural Centre today (Monday, 22 April, 2024) at 4:30p.m. The Budget Debate will follow on Thursday, 25 April and Friday, 26 April, 2022 starting at 9:00a.m. on both days.

On February 15th, The Government Information Unit toured the on going works at the Glendon Hospital Site in preparation for the construction of the New National Hospital. Permanent Secretary of Health, Mrs. Camille Thomas-Gerald, Hospital Manager, Mrs. Arlene Ponteen and Project Manager Hannes De Bruin were on hand to provide insight on the work in progress and what is to come.

Swearing-in and first sitting of the Montserrat National Youth Parliament who will debate a motion for the realignment of the curriculum to the needs of the community.

On Monday 5th February The Governor, Her Excellency Mrs. Sarah Tucker, Deputy Premier, Dr. Hon. Samuel Joseph and Mr. Herman 'Cupid' Francis, founder of the Small Beginnings Youth Orchestra, took delivery of Musical Instruments donated by the Guernsey Music Service in partnership with the Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey. A short reception ceremony was held at the John A Osborne Airport to mark the occasion.

The Budget Support Mission previously known as Financial Aid Mission (FAM) is held annually to allow for discussions between Government of Montserrat and the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) on the budget allocation for Montserrat. The team from the FCDO/UK Government has been on island meeting with government officials across the Ministries and departments to understand their strategic priorities and budgetary requirements for the next financial year (2024-2025). Speakers: H.E. Governor Sarah Tucker; Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon. Joseph E. Farrell, and Financial Secretary Ms Lindorna Lambert-Sweeney
